Catrina's hand-sculpted head is made of wood and paper clay, with inset wooden eyes that seem to follow you. Her body is made of quilter’s muslin that has been painted and sanded, then painted and sanded again, giving the fabric a rich patina that feels like old leather. She's holding a heart that's not so cold and black as it may seem. She’s attached to a wooden base on the bottom so that she stands nicely. Jo meticulously cut, folded, and painted every little petal and leaf on Catrina's flowery crown, which comes with its own little hatbox for storage.
She may be displayed with or without her crown and heart.
Like each of our pieces, this one is entirely made by our own hands. Individually sewn, drawn, and painted, Catrina is a one-of-a-kind piece. She is signed and dated by us, Dylan and Jo.
