Nippon hand painted creamer with heavy moriage and beading is so beautiful.
Moriage is liquid clay slip decoration, applied much like you would decorate a cake. Moriage has the appearance of dried cake frosting! Moriage was labor intense, done by hand, requiring skilled workmanship. consequently, this technique was seldom used after the Nippon era.
No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Any imperfections are in the original making of the creamer. Quite a collector piece.
From Japan. 5" X 4 1/2". Maroon, green, pink, blue, cream colors.
*Unmarked, not uncommon for Moriage pieces. It is quite common to see spectacular unmarked Nippon Moriage wares.
