PROCESS
I have hand cut the plate from solid bronze sheet, smoothed the edges by filing and sanding and drilled spaces for the rivets. I've cut the rivets from bronze tubing, and after drilling spaces in the bangle, used them to secure the plate to the wood. I've then free hand engraved the latitude and longitude of Crete on the bangle, and slightly oxidised the lettering with an eco-friendly oxidising solution called Noir.
I gave the plate a slightly distressed finish, and refinished the wood with organic oil.
CARE
Since this bracelet is made of wood and bronze, you should avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics, household cleaners and water. You can easily care for your bangle, by gently wiping it with a soft cloth after each time you wear it and storing it in an appropriate jewellery box. You may occasionally want to re-condition the wood, which you can easily do with a soft cloth and a very small amount of oil. This will restore shine to the wood. You can also use a soft polishing cloth on the bronze plate.
SHIPPING
I will ship this item through Canada Post; it will come wrapped in non-tarnish tissue paper inside of a sturdy kraft paper recyclable box, tied with a fabric ribbon, and will be suitable for gift giving. This will come in a bubble padded envelope for extra protection. If you would prefer a courier, please let me know in the note to seller so that I can inform you of the additional charge.
