This design is Secret Hearts hidden within a traditional tribal style motif. Use this to highlight your outfit or accessorize your accessories by attaching it on to handbags! It also makes for wonderful cushion covers and decorative art within the house either as a framed wall hanging or colorful and exotic feature around lamps and vases or on side tables.
PICTURED HERE: Luxurious and smooth Satin Silk!
Choose your material!
Jacquard Silk - Sports an underlying weave giving the piece delicious depth and texture.
Satin Silk - Classic smooth and shiny silk!
Chiffon Silk - Elegantly light and sheer - the most delicate and fragile of all the silks.
Peace Silk - A hand woven, no-harm silk suitable for vegans. Has a soft, muted glow and shine.
Cotton-silk - Thicker, more durable material with a beautiful bright, glossy sheen!
Waxed by hand then carefully colored over with only the highest quality German paints to ensure long lasting brightness in color. The silk is then dried, set with textile fixer, then boiled twice and ironed to ensure color steadfastness. After being boiled and ironed, it should only bleed in the wash very minimally for the first couple of times.
Each piece takes anywhere from 6 hours to 3 days to complete. Whew!!!
To give your Silk Batik a long and happy life, please look after it carefully with these tips and hints and a bit of common sense:
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Use cold water rather than warm or hot.
- Silk is a natural fibre like hair, as such you may find that a little shampoo will be gentler and give your batik a lustrous, shiny glow as opposed to using harsh detergents.
- NEVER EVER BLEACH!!! Good Grief!
My Neckerchiefs (neckerchieves??) measure approximately 21" x 21" (55 x 55 cm)
They can also be worn as hair ties, head bands, wrist accessories, handbag accessories or made into cushion covers!
The luxury of colorful silk batik always makes for pleasantly surprising and very welcome gifts!

A word on color: We have tried our best to portray the colors of our items. Having said that, please do remember:
- monitor settings DO vary so do keep that in mind as you browse.
- We hand mix all colors which means while we can replicate approximate color, we can never replicate exact color except by fluke.
- Colors are temperamental thingies. Shades change with the weather, time of day, and temperature of the room. Some colors we create are seemingly never seen again! This is the beauty of handmade - having something no one else can ever have.
A word on handmade items: As every single one of our pieces are one hundred percent completely handmade by our own arthritic little hands, the product you receive may not be EXACTLY the same as the one pictured. It will however, still be super carefully, created, crafted, finished and beautiful! While we try our absolute best to be perfect, we are but flawed humans and very minimally, once in the bluest of blue moons - ever, ever so slight, insignificant wonkiness and coloring outside the lines may occur. Thus, is the handmade experience! Don`t hate on it :)
P.s. The pencil marks you see on the piece will slowly fade off after several washes.
Care: Hand wash with a little shampoo or machine wash in protective net - cold water only! Slight bleeding may occur in the first couple of washes. Do not tumble dry if you can help it and iron on a silk setting preferably with protective cloth placed over your hand painted silk square scarf.
Shipping: We do combine shipping! Just send us a message here or on borneobatikraft [!at] gmail.com if you are interested in purchasing multiple pieces and let`s figure out which flat rate cutoff you fit under!
