Alca torda
Auk, Seabird

Illustrated by George James Rankin (1864-1937)

Beautiful antique lithograph, taken from the first edition (British Library Catalogue) of "Britain's Birds and Their Nests" written by Sir Arthur Landsborough Thomson, and published circa 1910.

The colour drawings are highly detailed, the print has a lovely, soft quality and is well-preserved. Very mild age-toning to margins as seen. It would look lovely matted and framed.

Paper size: 18 x 24 cm OR 7 x 9.5 inches, approximately.
Verso: Blank.

Printed area, apart from title: 11.5 x 15.5 cm OR 4.5 x 6 inches, approximately.

Your print will be slipped inside a polythene bag with extra card or paper, then posted in a cardboard-backed envelope, via airmail if overseas. All prints, whether antique, vintage or modern should be protected from exposure to direct sunlight.
