Original, beautifully detailed antique double page engraving showing different kinds of fishes.

The print shows: 1. Gadus morrhua - Atlantic Cod, 2. Gadus aeglefinus - Cod, 3. Chrysophrys aurata - Australasian Snapper, 4. Serranus cabrilla - Comber, 5. Hippocampus antiquorum - Short-snouted Seahorse, 6. Syngnathus acus - Greater Pipefish, 7. Ostracion quadricornis - Boxfish, 8. Acanthurus chirurgus - Doctorfish, 9. Mullus barbatus - Red Mullet, 10. Gobius niger - Black Goby, 11. Coryphaena hippurus - Mahi-mahi, Dolphinfish or Dorado, 12. Pleuronectes platessa - European Plaice, 13. Pleuronectes flesus - Plaice, 14. Pleuronectes limanda - Common Dab.

The reverse side (4th and 5th images) show:
1. Esox lucius - Northern Pike, 2. Cyprinus carpio - Common Carp, 3. Anguilla vulgaris - European Eel, 4. Scomber scomber - Atlantic Mackerel, 5. Mugil cephalus - Flathead Mullet, 6. The size of the print: 12" x 9,6" (30,5 x 24,5 cm) including its border.
Printed in 1904, Bibliographisches Institut Leipzig Germany, as an illustration for "Brockhaus' Konversations Lexikon".

The print is in good condition, the paper shows its age with a creamy aged patina ready to frame.

Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 110 years - some spots can be occured on the margin and the reverse side, but these do not effect the quality of the print itself as it can be seen on the scan.

Please note, that by antique prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
