Vintage 20 drawer card catalog, in a blond wood finish. A fabulous addition to any home library! This cabinet is a modular stacking system consisting of four components (two 5 drawer sections, one 10 drawer section, and one section with pull out shelves). The components can be configured multiple ways.
In good vintage condition. All drawers slide out smoothly. The metal dividers inside the drawers are all functioning and slide easily when lifting the release lever. The brass hardware is original and has developed a beautiful rich patina over the years. One rod is missing (see photo #4 top left). There are some marks and mars to the wood consistent with the age and use of the piece, with some chips to the exterior veneer.
There is no base or cap piece for the top. The interlocking notches are visible on the top cabinet, and it does not have a "finished" appearance. The bottom cabinet rests on the wood slats of the interlocking system. On a flat surface, the entire unit is very sturdy. No wobbles!
22 1/2" tall.
This cabinet is marked on the inside Texwood Furniture Corp. Austin, TX. Texwood has been producing library furniture for 50 years. They moved out of the Austin area in the mid 90s. This piece is most likely 1970s or 1980s, based on the brass hardware (before they switched to a molded plastic).
