The locket is octagonal with a plain verso and engraved face. The face is bordered with very fine engravings of acanthus leaves and pansies, two popular motifs during the Victorian era. The center of the locket is lightly engraved with the letter "F." The locket hinges from the bottom to a tidy interior with one picture compartment currently in use. It holds a turn of the century photograph of a woman in period dress. The picture ring is original. The locket closes tightly and is in outstanding condition.
