These antique wooden letters were used for printing in letterpress. The letters measure approx. 50 mm (1.96 inches) for the highest ('1') and 20 mm (0.78 inch) for the widest ('4'). The smallest measures approx. 25 mm in height. The blocks have been cleaned to remove dust and dirt while making great effort to still retain their ink stains / patina. The composition has blocks taken from different lots which we get from various sources, therefore these are with varying degree of usage. These may be from unused / rarely used to regular used and likewise have varying levels of wear & tear, ink staining & patina. In india most of the blocks were hand crafted therefore there may be some variation in their design, rough at base and nicks & cuts at base due to the making process. All this adds appeal to this vintage beauties.
