This match safe holds a standard-size sleeve of matches, and has two side windows for striking on the box. There is a box included here; labeled Pacific Dependable Matches, Pat. No. 3,051,366. Although it is currently full of old brittle matches, I won't be mailing them. The vintage box has some Household Hints on the back.
It's interesting to see how the piece was formed from 2 pieces of metal, folded and crimped. The back has a round hole for hanging. Because it's had a lot of kitchen experience, it's in perfectly Imperfect, vintage condition. Most of the paint is intact, but it does have scratches and dings. It is not bent, and retains its original shape.
A bundle of tall fireplace matches would stand in the holder. Or small wrapped candy ...
