Modernist Sasaki Plates Set of 4 Vignelli Design 1985 'America' Gold Stars

A superb set of 4 modernist plates designed by the renowned and creative Massimo Vignelli for Sasaki. Festive, shiny gold stars are sprinkled randomly over the fine, bone china - the pattern is called 'America'. Perfect for the holidays. They are in wonderful vintage condition, minimal use. Like all high quality fine china, they are translucent when held up to the light. The bottom of each plate says: Sasaki, Ultra Fine China, America by Vignelli Designs Inc., copyright 1985, Made in Japan. 7.75" diameter. Note: the reflective gold stars are very hard to photograph, they are all perfect.

Massimo Vignelli has worked in a wide variety of areas, including interior design, environmental design, package design, graphic design, furniture design, and product design. His clients have included high-profile companies such as IBM, Knoll, Bloomingdale's and American Airlines. He designed the iconic New York City Subway Diagram. 1985 is the same year Vignelli designed the 'Colorstone' line for Sasaki.
