This is a beautiful old compact in a design that is quite rare. The backside has an opening through which you pour the loose powder. Then inside the compact you press on the center portion which pushes down to release some of the loose powder....voila! No more shiny nose!

The color is a gorgeouse shafde of soft rosey pink and in the center is an image of a colonial couple. So shabby and romantic....divine in every way!

Back of compact is embossed with patent numbers but no makers mark. Or date.....my guess is 1930's-1940's.
