This penny-farthing suncatcher gets it's name from the British penny and farthing coins, one much larger than the other. The side view resembles a penny leading a farthing. The wheels are made from a mosaic of warm colors of gold stained glass. Each piece of glass is hand foiled and soldered into the handcrafted wire frame, leaving open spaces between the pieces. It is 8" across and stands 6 3/4" high. A dark patina is applied to the wire and solder. Besides hanging in a window, this old fashioned bike looks great propped on a shelf.
