This is View I and the print is number 2 of 5. It is numbered and initialled on the front and signed on the back. The print itself is 10cm (4") square and the cream hand torn Hannemuhle 300gsm paper is approx. 18cm x 25cm (7.5" x 10.25").
What I love about these prints is that you can see all sorts in them... I see the sands of the estuary leading out to the tidal island, but other people see moors, or dry stone walls... what do you see?
Collagraph prints are created by collaging different elements onto a base to create a printing plate. I used a combination of upcycled packaging paper and card and acrylic paint. You can see the printing plate for this print in the 4th photograph.
I inked the plate with oil-based printing ink in dense black, and printed using a printing press. The plate is re-inked for each impression, making every print unique.

The last photograph shows another print in this series mounted and framed in a standard 24 x 30cm (10" x 12") frame.
Your print will be shipped flat in a board backed envelope. For information about shipping etc, please see my shop policies http://www.etsy.com/shop/hypsela/policy
