This piece features a chocolate brown mother-of-pearl disc encased in chainmail (no glue or adhesive holding it in -- just the jump rings!), around which I've featured gorgeous tiger eye stones as well as sienna-colored faceted crystals, all on tarnish-resistant gold craft wire. Heavy bronze chain and more mother-of-pearl discs complete the design. The necklace measures about 18" long and is finished with a handmade hook-clasp, although it could really hook anywhere on the chain, allowing it to be worn at different lengths.
I named the piece "Durga" after a fierce Hindu goddess of victory and strength, known as "the invincible," who was often depicted riding a lion or tiger (given the colors of this piece and the actual tiger eye, I felt the association was apt!) Who wouldn't want to feel like a powerful warrior goddess in this gorgeous necklace?
