This listing is for a one of a kind ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals) measuring 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. This ACEO is an Original is one of a kind, hand signed, and created in my studio by hand. For those of you new to ACEOs, they are miniature pieces of art that make it easy for customers to collect original art at an affordable price. ACEO collecting is becoming very popular throughout the world. ACEOs can be kept in a trading card book with sleeves, or displayed on small easels in curio cabinets.
What makes this ACEO special:
This ACEO Card originated as "lost art" from my archives, it was a small unpublished illustration, pen and ink line art sample that I had made as spec pieces to show as examples of my work from 1999. At the time I was stretching my fledgling wings and sending samples to magazine and book publishers looking for illustration jobs. It was recently discovered when I was going through some memorabilia and news clippings.
I almost put these little gems back in the box to go back into storage until the next time I took a trip down memory lane...almost. Then it occurred to me, these were pretty darned cool and they were just hidden away. Then I realized that they were almost the right size for ACEO cards. Inspiration had struck! I measured them and I was right. I trimmed them down ever so slightly. This one was originally a black and white pen and ink piece, so I decided that I would add color using watercolor and colored pencil, and I must say, it was really fun and I love the results.
I have also hand written the name of the illustration, and signed it with the year the original illustration was created, and the year it was hand colored, 1999-2011.
This card comes in a card sleeve protector, but should be stored or displayed out of direct sunlight and away from moisture as it is original artwork. Because of the small size of ACEOs we try to make them as affordable as possible, we ship in a padded envelope via US Mail (regular mail). This can take up to a week for shipping within the US and up to 4 weeks for international shipping.
I hope you enjoy this one of a kind bit of history from the Mickie Mueller archives!
