This tiny figure in her white as snow lace dress stands 14.5cms/5ins high and is made from cotton fabric, which is carefully sewn and hand stuffed, with the signature Whskr raw edge which is unpainted. When the body is finished, each doll is ready to be embellished and dressed. The brooches feel firm to the touch and is robust enough to sit nicely on a coat, jacket or cardigan.
Each doll is embellished in a dfferent way, with beads, vintage sequins, repurposed lace elements and special charms, so you will never find two dolls dressed the same way. For this brooch, I loved the lace and imagined her off on a formal dinner date at some rather smart venue with her carefully draped evening dress gathered at the hip in a snowflake sequin.
She carefully drapes the beaded 'shawl' over her arm and carries her cute little Koala Bear vintage charm 'handbag' (purse) on the way to meet her beau. She dreams that he will present her with an orchid and she will pin it carefully onto her lace confection where it will be seen to best effect.
As with all Whskr pins, a metal brooch back is securely sewn to the reverse with 'invisible' sewing thread that blends well with the white cotton fabric. The brooch attachment also doubles as a hanger. Many of my customers have told me they love to display Whskr brooches when they are not being worn - I thought this was an awesome idea and had to share!
