This listing is for a 1874 vintage map of the plan for drying the Grand-Lieu Lake, south-west of Nantes, in the Loire-Atlantique, France. The plate is quite interesting as the drying of the lake never took place thanks to the intervention of the French Parliament in 1898.
The map was published in Paris, France as part of a manual for engineers of bridges and roads and its author is A. Debauve.
Size: 17.5" x 16"
Perfect for framing.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. It is printed on thick paper and has a nice creamy patina. The plate was folded in four parts to fit into the book it was part of. The folding line is visible. The back is blank . Please look at the photos carefully. The image has been scanned in two parts and there are some imperfections caused by pasting the two parts.
Sent to you in a flat envelope, folded (as it was in the original Atlas) protected with a cello sleeve and cardboard or in a tube.
This is an ORIGINAL, not a reproduction.
