100% reclaimed copper and handmade in my studio
Copper cuff. Design inspired by Japanese style patterning and wood block printing. A pattern of the see blends into a pattern of rolling hills with clouds. Colored naturally through a chemical process that turns the metal green. Details of process below.

Process:
free hand drawing
etching
sawing out the form from the plate
filing down rough edges
hammering around a form to make it fit wrist comfortably
tumbling in a tumbler with steel shot (for smoothness)
patinating (oxidation of the metal with acid)
sanding (to bring out relief of raised lines)
sealing (to retain oxidation and patina)
this one item with all processes included (etching / tumblind / setting up of patina/ general labor~ takes around 7 hours to produce)
