These shakers came in light and darker jadite and this shaker is a darker shade which is a bit harder to come by.
It has the nice ribbed or concentric pattern that was made to match the canisters and vases.
On the front of the shaker is the word Flour in black lettering. The lid is the original one that came with this shaker years ago.
The shaker stands about 4 1/2 inches tall with the lid on it. The base is about 2 inches across.
These shakers were not marked by Jeannette, but rest assured this is the real vintage deal.
The lid has some dings or dents and patina which is usual because the old aluminum that was used to make the lids was quite soft, not to mention the shaker was made in the 1940's. There are new replacement lids you can buy if you prefer, but I like look of the old vintage lid.
When the lid is taken off, there is some black residue left on the threads at the top which is from the oxidation of the metal lid on the glass. I see one teeny tiny fleabite or chip when the lid is off on the top rim and it measures the size of a sharpened pencil point tip.
The black lettering shows just a hint of wear and there are some straw marks from when it was made.
A nice vintage Jeannette jadite flour shaker to add to your kitchen or collection.
As with most vintage glass, straw marks, swirls of color, mold seams, white spots from the factory are present.
