** Why Venetian Glass?
All Dolce Beada jewelry features Venetian or Murano glass beads. She will love the artistry, the simplicity and the depth of color found in Italian glass. Each bead is individually handmade in Italy using techniques dating back to the 13th century. The beads are formed by melting glass canes over an open torch flame, often adding gold , silver or white gold foil and encasing that with more glass. When the glass is placed over the foil it has a textural quality to it. The beads are then slowly annealed in a kiln which makes them very durable.
** About the jewelry:
The earrings are handmade in my studio overlooking the redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The earwires are .925 sterling silver and may feature a small sterling silver bali style accent beads. Your earrings will come on a labeled card and in a gold organza gift bag ready for gifting (see last photo for an example). A card explaining the techniques of Venetian glass beadmaking will also be included.
** Size:
The sterling chain is 16" (I also have 18" available - just convo me)the bead hangs down just over .5" (15mm) and is just about .5" (10mm) in width.
