some small holes and distressing throughout the fabric (see pictures), one spoke tip has popped off but can be stitched back on (this is easily accomplished with two stitches of industrial strength thread, no sewing skills necessary.) the popped spoke tip does not affect the functionality of the parasol.
i just tested it in the rain, it is waterproof and doesn't leak. can be used as an umbrella.
the flattening in the fourth picture is due to the angle of the camera, the shape of the canopy is fine. the black dot you see on one of the panels is the tie snap and not a blemish.
