This listing is for the carved pearl mounting and 18" box chain only; a pearl is selected separately from the many options I have in stock--or perhaps you have a pearl that has been sitting around, waiting for the perfect setting... I make each of these pieces custom to your metal preference (14K white gold, 14K yellow, 18K, etc.), and you choose your favorite pearl (pearls start at $45, and range in size from 9-11mm or so). I have shown the necklace with a fantastic peacock Tahitian pearl of 9.7mm diameter.
The mounting is hand-carved by me using pointy tools and cast using the lost-wax casting method. Once you select your pearl, I half-drill it and mount it securely on a tiny post inside of the sea star. The sea star pendant hangs from a delicate box chain (.8mm), 14K, 18" long. If you would prefer a 16" or other length chain, just let me know!
PEARLS: I have a wonderful selection of pearls of all price ranges from creamy white South Sea lovelies to striking blacks with magenta and peacock overtones from French Polynesia, plus one fantastic blue pearl from the Sea of Cortez.
