Dancing Chairs - Sculpture

In this pair of chairs I looked to the swing era for inspiration. The charming and easy-going rhythms of the big bands and lyrics like “Got a shine on my shoes and a melody in my heart . . .” set my chisels and saws in motion to create a pair of fox-trotting Art Deco-styled dancing chairs. Decked out in tuxedo and ball gown, these pieces speak of the rhythm and mood of that era.

materials: mahogany, fabric, oil finish

For lovers of dance, this pair of chairs would fit perfectly in a foyer or other location where sculpture is displayed. This is a non-functional sculpture - not designed for seating.
