JEAN CUNNINGHAM: When I asked Micheal DiGiorgio to paint a picture of my precious Molly I knew he would do a fantastic job, but when
I actually saw the watercolor I was amazed. He not only depicted her exactly the way she looks, but he also captured her personality. The colors he used for her and the background were perfect. She is a tough dog to paint with Maltese and Chihuahua in her; she is white with wiry chihuahua hairs. I can't believe how perfectly she looks in the portrait. His talent is beyond words! I am so pleased!
For anyone contemplating commissioning an artist to do a portrait of their pet, I say "Hesitate no more!"
Mike recently did a watercolor of my beloved old Dachshund, and I could not be more pleased with the results. Mike's artistic talent is legendary, but, for me, the best thing about the experience was Mike insisted getting to know my dog Wally's personality so he could capture it just right. He also invited my feedback at every stage of the process, by emailing sketches and revisions, virtually eliminating the possibility that I would be unhappy with the finished product.
I loved working with Mike on the portrait of my 8-year old Springer. He took the time to meet Tucker and play with him and study his appearance and personality. He then went on to paint a truly superb watercolor of my dog that looks like a photograph. The detail in his painting is impeccable, showcasing Tucker's adoring eyes with intensity and passion. Mike created a masterpiece for our family that will last forever.
Thanks, Michael, for this beautiful picture of Abby. You captured her personality perfectly. I am looking forward to seeing our dog Nick and the cats in watercolor, too.
