This was my fifth annual Christmas quilt. For this design, I wanted to use multiple borders of varying widths to frame the center tree motif. The end effect is reminiscent of Fair Isle sweaters -- a treasured Christmas present when I was growing up. The mismatched border adds an interactive feature with the title of the quilt challenging the viewer to find the one matching pair of mittens.

This quilt won a third place ribbon at the 2009 Glendale (CA) Quilt Guild's quilt show and was featured in the June/July 2009 issue of "Quilters Newsletter" magazine. It measures 56"h x 52"w.

This quilt is included in two Etsy treasuries:

"Baby, it's cold outside!":

"Oh Tannenbaum":
