Antique Victorian locket hand carved from two pieces of banded agate. Image shows the shop's collection of agate lockets, this one is the locket in the lower right. A black oval with striking stripes of varied grays, entering from the left, and exiting at the base. The upper right of the stone is subtly translucent, and shows a gorgeous depth when backed with white paper. Back of the locket is luminous and milky, with deep inky stripes, creamy glaze strips, and handsome old fractures within the stone. When open, the locket reveals its transparency - the pattern of the second panel echoing the the first. Framed with a simple gilt brass bezel with spare and elegant details. A bold and handsome Victorian locket, with a design that will never be repeated.
