This journal is the second in a series of original print covers on luscious Lokta paper (from Nepal). On this particular cover I used a linocut of a key I made in September 2011. The entirety of the front and back cover were first covered with Olive Lokta paper. Then I added a rectangle of hand-torn brown to the front cover to act as a sort of frame for the print - a hand-torn rectangle of turquoise. I used a bright pink rectangle of Lokta paper as a frame for the text at the bottom which reads "Intelligence from spies is the worst kind." The pages are hand-cut, rounded corners, with hand-dyed bright pink bookbinders thread. The Coptic style of stitch allows the book to open up flat, which is fantastic for writing, sketching, etc.
