Great care was taken to create the real life images with the black and white contrasting colors of six beautiful animals: Butterfly, Panda, Lizard, Dolphin, Bird and Sea Turtle.
Use these cards in various capacities and place them anywhere in the room. First as a black and white mobile, then as framed art on the wall, and then as matching cards for older children to explore!
It’s a fun way to stimulate visual development and to promote infants brain development.

"Research tells us that infants do not see in color when they are first born. Some specialists recommend the contrast of black and white to stimulate an infant visually, as well as help develop the brain. I have seen black and white mobiles, patterned cloth, and poster prints promoted for infants.
Black and White Cards by Bella’s Casa contains six tasteful, rather realistic reprints of handpainted animal images. The use recommendations for Black and White Cards include displaying them as a mobile or as art on a wall. In addition to displaying, I have been using these for several months with my eighteen-month-old. She really enjoys looking at the cards. I often ask her if she can say a word in a book as I read it to her, and I began doing that with these cards. The animals in the cards use diverse sounds in their names, and I think it is well worth my time to have my toddler practice and expand her vocabulary.
I am one to make everything teachable for as many of my children as I can. Since I noticed that there are a variety of animal types displayed, as well as habitats they live in, I decided to also use them with my preschooler and early elementary child. In the collection there is an interesting variety:
•an insect – butterfly
•a land mammal – panda
•an ocean mammal – dolphin
•a bird
•an ocean reptile – sea turtle
•and another reptile (which you could construe as an amphibian for teaching purposes) – lizard/salamander
I used Black and White Cards to discuss different types of animals including vertebrate and invertebrate (animals with bones and without), identifying characteristics of insects, four of five vertebrate groups and their characteristics, habitat/food sources, and for us, what day of creation God made them. I think it would have been nice if there was a sort of tropical fish included, to have all five vertebrate types for children older than the infant/toddler stage.
Black and White Cards not only has a nice variety of pleasant animal prints on convenient cards in a black and white format to benefit infants, I have found them to be very versatile in use for the stages of my other children".
