What is a survival bracelet:
They are made of parachute cord, also known as paracord. They originated with the idea of giving the outdoorsmen – hiker, hunter, fisherman – an additional emergency supply of strong cord.
In an emergency, these bracelets can be taken apart – supplying you with between 8 to 10 feet of cord for single stranded, or two 4 to 5 foot strands for double stranded (depending on size of the bracelet).
I have NOT removed the inner strands from this bracelet, resulting in a thicker, more rugged look, and a stronger cord. This cord can hold up to 550 pounds.
Picture #5 shows the differene between the thicker "550" bracelet, and the thinner bracelet where the strands have ben removed.
