I used Jay McCarrolls 'Germania' fabric line as the focal point of this modern baby quilt. The deep marine blue in the print is a beautiful rich color that sets off the accent squares of yellow, red, orange and blue.
I used orange and marine blue for the border and it framed with a bright yellow binding that sets off the entire quilt. I machine stitched the binding to the front and stitched it to the back of the quilt by hand using the traditional manner.
I pieced the back with the same deep marine blue as the front, but accented it with two vertical strips of the 'Germania' fabric. I machine quilted it with a dark blue thread using a 'zig zag pulse' line. It really fits with the fun fabric design!
This is one of those quilts that grabs your attention! A great gift for any baby or child. Truely a unique and fun quilt that would have a special place in any child's crib, bed or heart for years!
It has been pre-washed with a fragrance free detergent and tumble dried to give it a soft crinkled look.
Machine or hand wash gentle, air dry or tumble dry low. Mild detergent if needed. Do not bleach. Gently washing and drying your handmade quilt extends its life.
