I love making these types of soft sculptures and I am inspired by organic, repeating shapes found in nature. Using traditional crochet techniques to create modern, abstract designs is infinitely enjoyable! I made this complex piece by hand crocheting individual "pods" and then arranging within a secondhand frame that I painted to match. All of my bases are found at secondhand stores so each one is unique and has its own character.
The monochromatic deep pink color palette is fresh and contemporary.
This particular frame has a sturdy metal hanger on the back.
Measures approximately 14.5 x 12.5 inches (37 x31 cm).
The dark pink yarn is 100% acrylic.
