These vintage salt and pepper shakers were made in the shape of teapots or tea kettles, with wound wire handles and little spouts. They are pretty wacky. The main part of the shaker is a clown or hobo face. Each one is wearing a little red cap with "S" or "P" on it. They were hand painted in Japan in the 1940's.

The salt and pepper measure 3" high (4" high if you include the wire handle) and 4" wide. They are in good shape; you can see that some of the paint is wearing off in places. Each one still has the original cork stopper.
