The size is approximately 8.66" x 6.69" and 1.57" thick.
A chocolate cord engages around a rustic button of cow skin. This is a practical and secure closure.
I have stitched the journal (with the clear, original and antique stitch) with an ocher linen thread.
It boasts 280-pages (both sides) of good quality cream colour unlined 100 g of laid (vergé) paper, which has the look and feel of a handmade paper. It even has the grid of parallel translucent lines (“vergeures or laid lines”) with handtorn and rasping edges. You can write, draw or paint with watercolours on it. It has FSC warranty.
The book also has endleaves in Japanese paper, clear and with long fibers, in white colour, with embedded textures.

MEDITATIO obviously means, "meditation", in latin, but also "through", "consideration", "deliberation"... and "to prepare for", for example, a mission or a project.
This simple binding, called “de cartera” in Spain, has been used to archiving the manuscripts since the middle age. Their stitched is visible on the spine. Although originally was on parchment (a fact that it is thougt to come to the the islamic bookbinding), this hide-version used the raw edge on the flap.

MEDITATIO significa en latín “meditación”, pero también “reflexión”, “consideración”… y “prepararse para algo”, por ejemplo una misión, o un proyecto.
Esta encuadernación sencilla (llamada “de cartera”) es usada desde la edad media para archivar de forma segura los manuscritos. La costura es visible en el lomo, y la piel continúa formando una solapa. En origen se creaban en pergamino, y se piensa que procede de la encuadernación islámica.
