This kit includes:
(1) A hanging glass globe with a hanging wire;
(2) A gold painted stand;
(3) An air plant to put inside the globe (the air plant may vary from the one in the pictures but similar);
(4) Two to three little pieces of sea glass (colors of sea glass might vary from pics);
(5) Some sea shells;
(6) Some white sand;
(7) An air plant care instruction sheet.
Size of the glass globe: about 5.5" tall and 5" in diameter with a 2.65" opening at the front and two 0.75" ''vents'' on the top, and 2.5'' flat base. Since it has a flat base, you can put the globe itself on a table if you don't want to hang it! You can also hang the globe anywhere you want as an ornament. It's flexible and you can be very creative with it:)!
Size of the gold painted stand: 8'' tall with a 3'' by 3'' base.
Air plants don't need any soil and they require extremely low maintenance -- (1) bright, indirect light, no direct sun is recommended. You can put them near a window at home, or put them in your office, since fluorescent office lighting also works well for them. (2) give them a bath once or twice a week, or rinse them 2-3 times a week. For this guy, you can just take it out of its globe and run it under water. It will be very happy afterwards. Sometimes it even changes its color from green to red to show its satisfaction! It will also turn red when it's in bloom - meaning at some point later it will have little air plant babies!:)
In order to protect the glass globe and the plant, this terrarium comes as a kit, and a little assembly is required. But it's fun and easy to make! All you need to do is to place sand, sea shells, sea glass and the air plant inside the globe, and then hang the globe on the stand!
