Carnelian Necklace with a Beautifully Faceted Pendant on a Rosary Style Wire Wrapped Carnelian and Gold Vermeil Chain

A stunning large carnelian gem is capped with 18K gold, and it is suspended from a luxurious faceted carnelian and gold chain. The high quality carnelian agate gem has delicate bands of translucent color. I have never before seen a gemstone faceted like this one. The top third of the stone is perfectly smooth. The bottom two thirds is beautifully faceted.

The sparkling carnelian teardrop measures 22mm x 16mm x 9mm (7/8" x 5/8" x 3/8"). The pendant is suspended from a vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) wire wrapped 4mm faceted carnelian gem, and it dangles 38mm (1 1/2") from a 17" rosary-style chain. The chain is made up of 3mm faceted carnelian gems that are wire wrapped with 22K gold vermeil wire. It fastens securely with a vermeil lobster claw clasp.
