vintage gold mesh purse / 1940s / BACKSTAGE

A small, vintage mesh evening purse in shimmering gold. The purse has a goldtone metal frame supporting the linked, armor-mesh panels that make up the "fabric" of the piece. The mesh is bright gold and very supple. The purse opens with a knob clasp to an unlined interior. A brassy, link chain serves as a top handle. The mesh is attached at every point and there are no rips or frays. The design is typical of Art Deco mesh purses. Excellent condition.
