There's nothing like a pretty, romantic new hat to lift your spirits! Well, maybe just a drop of brandy in your afternoon tea, for medicinal purposes only, of course!
My latest Maribeth Afternoon Tea Cloche is named after my adorable student, who never fails to lift my spirits!! This 1920's styled cloche is rendered in the richest hues of burgundy, merlot, rust, fuschia and amethyst. A poetic medley of tapestry, moiree' taffeta, velvet, and Russian veiling, blend perfectly to create this sumptuous hat.
My own handmade silk organza rose, which I stiffened in milliners gelatin, then heat curled, and hand stitched each delicate petal together, one by one, makes for a dazzling finale and focal point. The leaves of the rose are formed with curled, hand tinted feathers, which Maribeth herself suggested. Fits heads to measure 22-22 1/2 inches.
