This is a very special piece of jewelry- a locket made completely by hand. This was made entirely by me of sterling silver raw materials, including the little hinge and tiny safety catch. I made it in such a way as to firmly hold 2 flat tempered glass watch crystals and a photo. The photo I chose is a beautiful picture of 2 ravens taken by Etsy's own CG Whitfield. He graciously gave me permission to use it. I transferred this photo to a transparency so the locket would be clear and the image "ghost-like". You can flip open the locket and change the image to another transparency or a traditional photo if you like. If you would like me to take one of your photos and make a transparency to fit the locket, please just contact me- there will be a small upcharge.
Many, many hours of hand fabrication went into this necklace. It was finally given an oxidized finish to enhance the dark image. The locket measures 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm) and the sterling silver chain is 17 inches long (43.3 cm). The chain can be shortened or lengthened easily. It closes with a lobster claw clasp.
