I just love Cathrineholm enamelware and over the years I've found only a few of these mid-century modern lotus goodies.
Designed by Grete Prytz Kittelsen and Made in Norway for Cathrineholm, this colorful sunny enamel cookware is a favorite with collectors.
The sauce pan has a metal handle and features white lotus flowers which are set against the yellow background while the lid is yellow. The inside of the pot is white.
Neat feature on the lid is having a steam escape hole which is so convenient when cooking. You can see the steam hole in my second picture.
On the underneath of the lid as well as on the black bottom of the sauce pot, it is stamped CATHRINEHOLM MADE IN NORWAY. The stamp on the black base has some rub to it, but it is there.
The sauce pan measures about 3 1/2 inches high with the lid off. With the lid on, it measures about 5 inches tall.
From rim edge to rim edge (without the handle), this sauce pot is almost 7 inches across. The handle is almost, but not quite 6 inches long. These measurements are approximate.
Used but not abused, this is in nice condition.
On the lid, there are some scratches and scuff marks.
On the inside of the sauce pan there is some staining or discoloration from usage.
On the outer rim of the sauce pan there are some very small chips (fleabites) to the enamel that are more felt than seen.
There are a few scratches on the outside of the pan.
The bottom,where pan sits on the table, there are some scuffs and scratches to the black finish.
