Here's Blaster, my favorite Transformer Autobot, who's disguise is a boombox. "Blaster" is a handmade, independently-designed transformers boombox with functional rechargeable Li-Ion speakers for a laptop, mp3 player, ipod, ipad, or desktop computer. While Blaster does not actually transform or have a tape-deck like the comic book superhero, his rechargeable speakers can be plugged into the headset outlet of any computer or mp3 device (stereo music player, ipad, ipod, etc) and project sound from left and right speakers built into his legs. Blaster was made by recycling children's building blocks, and using adhesive, mixed epoxy, aluminum sheets, electronic components, spray paint, acrylic paints, nuts, bolts, brackets, braces, and so on to generate his beautiful body. For fans for transformers comics and the transformers tv show, this is a MUST HAVE. This Blaster hand-made functional sculpture closely resembles the Blaster Autobot, who also has speakers in his legs, and a whopping huge "blaster" gun. This is not a toy for kids, but for adult use. In fact, kids should be supervised if proximal to Blaster, since he has sharp aluminum edges. Blaster is very fragile, and must only be picked up his pelvis, or loins, between his legs, the core of his body when placed. His chest is constructed from hinges and aluminum sheets on reclaimed wood, and should not be "opened" or it will look offset and may compromise his stability. Blaster's speakers have on and off switches, and when on, the lower surface shines LED multi lights (see dark image, 5). Speakers can be recharged individually or both at once by plugging into the USB portion of a laptop. Cables were attached to each speaker to convert them to left and right channels with a y-connector that plugs straight into your laptop. Cables were concealed with tacks and bent aluminum sheets behind his body (see image 3). Finally, recycled comic books were laminated and heat sealed as decorative labels on his body (see front and reverse side of chest, images 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Blaster is a whopping 15.5" tall, as tall as a pet cat. His shoulder to shoulder span is 10", and his arm length is 7", with the gun is 10.5".

Blaster is a HANDMADE transformer from new and old components, and should be treated very gently. He is made to last as well as you treat him. Speakers are rechargeable, and will last only as long as they are charged. If the battery dies, you must recharge each one separately by plugging in with provided cables into your laptop or desktop computer. Since Blaster is handmade, he has imperfections that I don't consider flaws, but uniqueness of his design, such as uneven paint, uneven surfaces, unevenly cut aluminum, unevenly bent aluminum, uneven wood blocks, uneven distribution of epoxy, crooked components, etc. Blaster is one-of-a-kind, and while I may repeat this project, because i will miss him very, very much and may need one for myself...the next transformer will be completely different. Please consider that Blaster has imperfections before checking out, and is the only one in the entire world, like you.
