This ring is built around a gorgeous little cabochon of bright blue apatite. The colour of the stone is absolutely stunning- it is a vivid sea blue colour, and is polished to a high shine.

I decided to create a mixed-metal setting for this ring. The bezel is polished gold, while the band is a silver domed herringbone pattern. I created this band by first hammering the sterling silver strip with an opposing, linear texture. After forming the band, I used my ring press to create the domed, wedding-band style shape. The silver was brushed to a glittery gleam using my pin tool, and was then given a final polish with a steel brush. The ring band stock I used for this piece was 3/8", but is somewhat narrower than that now, as I compressed the ring to create the domed profile.

I can also ship this using Air Mail, but the package will only be insured up to $100, and there is no tracking number- should you choose to go with this method (about $7.50-10.00 to most international locations) I cannot be held responsible for the safe arrival of your ring. This is too costly a piece for me to self-insure, so please keep this in mind if you would like the lower shipping rate.
