This sweater is stylish, warm and tongue in cheek with a nod to the wacky chevron patterns of the 70"s and 80"s. It is a hybrid of crochet and knitting and the belly is ribbed to hug and expand as needed. There is a tiny horizontal opening on the back where the collar meets the sweater proper so you have the choice of attaching the leash to the collar here.
It is luxuriantly soft because prior to shipping it is given a good soak in Eucalan, a premium wool wash that that imparts extra lanolin to the sweater for softness and natural waterproofing. You get the best of both worlds, the hardworking, longwearing, shape retaninig aspects of wool, but with all that extra softness added in.
