Shear Bravo is the second in the series. 2x2 ribbing along the brim sets up a diagonal transition into a stockinette band, and then into an alternating double seed stitch. The contrast between the two stitch patterns defines the characteristic parallelogram shape. The ribbing is further developed into the trefoil crown which is a design element common to all my hats.
Laying flat in a relaxed state it measures approximately 12in(30.5cm) in length and 20in(51cm) in circumference.
This beanie is hand knit using a recycled 100% lamb's wool yarn. The color is a cool charcoal gray best demonstrated in the last photograph. The thinness of this yarn creates a finely knit fabric, ideal for moderate climates and urban wear. It's knit loosely to open up the ribbing and create a relaxed silhouette.
Keep it in tip top shape by hand washing it in a mild detergent, and then drying it flat. Remember that wool is hair, so if you'd like to use shampoo or body wash go right ahead. You can also use conditioner to add some sheen. Wool is excellent at wicking away moisture, so water goes right through it. When drying do not wring or twist, instead just squeeze. You can also roll it up in a towel and step on it a few times. Then lay it flat to dry completely.
