The resin was cast in layers over several days. Once fully cured the heart was carefully sanded and polished until shiny and smooth, and a brooch clasp attached to the reverse.
The front of the the brooch is flat and perfectly clear, whereas the reverse is domed and smoothed to a frosted finish. This means the pink and blue colours reflect around the curves of the heart and give a lovely effect to frame the inclusions.
This cute and kitch brooch is 3cm at it's widest point. It is chunky and durable, but equally lightweight and easy to wear. Would look great with any outfit, or perhaps a nice addition to brighten up a winter coat or bag.
