When I was a young girl, living in Connecticut, we had a woodland down the street with a marsh. Turtles basked on logs in the summer and we would play very rudimentary ice hockey on the ice in the winter. I came home blue from cold, with scraped hands and elbows more than once. I liked this little patch of woods best when I was alone and imagining the trolls and fairies that might live in them. I knew better, of course, but the tiny sounds and rustlings of this small patch might well have been home to fantastical, small creatures. This yarn, Kelly green, aqua blue, a little forest green and a smidge of yellow is my memory of summer afternoons in my magical woods.
