This poster was inspired by the family crest of the Stark house from the book/TV series, Game of Thrones. It features a badass direwolf and the Stark family words, Winter is Coming. A great piece for anyone who is a fan of the books or things that are awesome.
I designed the poster and carved the image from 3 lino blocks. I printed it in 3 passes on a Vandercook press at SVC's letterpress studio. The ink is a hand mixed blue and metallic silver. The type was hand set in 18pt Garamond Italic lead type. It reads, Winter is Coming. This was a run of 80 prints. Each print comes signed and numbered. The poster is printed on 100% cotton archival quality, acid-free 90lb paper.
The poster measure 21" x 14"
Note because of the nature of the printing process there is a slight variance in the color and registration of each print.
