Kingwood is wood is very dense and hard and can be brought to a spectacular finish. It turns well but due to its density and hardness it can be difficult to work with hand tools. It also has a tendency to blunt tools due to its abrasive properties. It is available only in small sizes (it is yielded by a smallish tree, Dalbergia cearensis, restricted to a small area in Brazil). Other woods yielded by the same genus are cocobolo, rosewood, blackwood and tulipwood.
They measure roughly 1/4" x 1" as a faceted rectangle. The finish is a hand-buffed wax and shellac blend that will not mar your shirts or suits and can be rebuffed to restore the shine as needed.
The cufflinks will be delivered in the sharp looking black box pictured which protects and stores your cufflinks in style.
