How to Fit a Martingale Collar
To measure your dog for a Martingale Collar, use a soft tape measure and measure three points - around the widest part of the head, behind the ears, and around the neck (where the dog collar will sit). Choose the smallest size dog collar that will still fit all three points. For example, if your dog has a 16" neck, select a medium sized dog collar (adjustable from 13-17") rather than a large, which is adjustable from 16-20 inches.
IMPORTANT:
When sizing for breeds that are not sight hounds, please take the measurement around the widest part of your dog's head.
How are Huggable Hound collars made?
The top layer is made with high quality 100% cotton. The interior or middle layer of the collar is reinforced with medium weight webbing that is strong up to 600 lbs but is supple enough to move with your dog's neck and the inside layer is soft and silky satin.
Hardware is premium welded d-rings and high quality solid cast nickel round triglides. I only use Gutermann thread which has a very high break point, is engineered to cope with highly stressed seams and each seam that holds the hardware is triple stitched for durability as well as safety.
