This 'stand out' piece was created by the edgy Dutch couture designer Mikel Alexander Ansingh, who also spent time in NYC as a photographer. 'De Luxe' jewelry was hand crafted in Amsterdam. These high end couture pieces are often very dramatic and large, using unique materials.
The silver behind the acrylic creates a mirrored effect. The metal is possibly solid sterling silver or it's very well plated sterling.
Circa 1960's
Marked: De Luxe, NYC / A'Dam
Adjustable - Approx size is set at 6 3/4.
Face measures just under 1 3/4" L x 1 1/4" W.
Beautiful vintage condition ~
There is a ding/dimple on the acrylic. Zoom in on 2nd photo to see.
Subtle portion of the artists epoxy can be seen in the mirrored background (behind the acrylic). Also a trace of it along an edge where silver meets acrylic. The silver portion of the ring shows wear from age and use. The very back has scratches: Possibly done a test to see if it was solid sterling.
